Are you prepared for an event such as a wildfire, earthquake or extended power outage? Are you properly prepared just for a simple hike, camping or hunting trip? Do you know what you should have, how much you should have, and where you should store what? We can help you become more prepared.
Being prepared for the unexpected makes all the difference between being able to survive in relative misery or tolerable comfort. We have seen both and prefer the latter. Investing in good emergency stores of food, survival kits, medical supplies and even a survival blanket to stave off the cold. Peace of mind doesn’t have to be expensive, just think of it as an investment you make when times are good for when times aren’t.
In this day and age there are more and more events that can cause disruptions to our everyday lives, remember the pandemic restrictions? Extended power outages due to weather or wildfire? Don't get caught when the food, water and necessities (toilet paper) have been cleaned out of your local stores. Remember the old saying "...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"?
Eddie Ford / Instructor - During his 20 year career in the United States Navy, Eddie has endured natural disasters from hurricanes to ice storms and had to learn the hard way what it takes to endure. He has been trained and served as a Red Cross Shelter Manager and Disaster Preparedness Officer for two U.S. Navy Commands.  His approach to preparedness is that knowledge can be taken wherever you go and that being prepared gets you there faster.
Part 5 – Locations and Transportation – If the worst happens and you must leave your home, where will you go? Where you meet up with loved ones or your group? How can you get there? We will discuss the primary modes of transportation and maybe some you haven’t considered.
Part 6 – Communications - Communication is often overlooked when we think of surviving. When you add more than yourself to the equation, communication becomes crucial. We will discuss a few of the readily available modes of communication and how you can best use them to enhance your situation.
